Two issues:

1) Does auto import feature works for RSS feed?
It seems not, I have set 300 in cron interval field (supposing they are seconds) but nothing seems to happen.

Note that if i run the job manually everything works just fine.

2) Trying to update the JA Social Feed extension i get an error, even with the extension manager

It still works.
The Auto Cron uses Pseudo Cron, this means, on Frontend, there must be some request to the Server, then the Cron Job will work. (https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Pseudo-cron)
