I have been going around in circles for several days trying to master the JA Social FEED plug which came with the JA WALL template. I need a detailed user guide for this which goes over how to set up a specific feed, turn it on, turn it off and so forth. I have been able to set up feeds, but they are very sporadic. I cannot create a feed, turn it off and then turn it on with any sort of consistency. I cannot reproduce the same results two times in a row with anything. For instance, I have 3 facebook feeds – all set up identically, but only 2 of the three will ever populate. The facebook section asks for an ID, but some of my facebook accounts dont have id numbers – they have names in the places where id numbers usually appear. These names work OK in the verification part of the set up inside the plug-in. They pass verification in that part. But, these same facebook feeds never populate. I have deleted all articles, and then emptied the trash and then purged the cache of my server and my browser, to no avail. Just for grins, I changed a youtube feed from the catagory of social feed , which works OK, to the catagory of video, which works OK on another website. It never switched. I cleared cache – refreshed browsers etc, etc but it will not budge. It’s next to impossible to gain any confidence in learning this way!!! Is there not a clear, step by step userguide somewhere for the JA SOCIAL FEED (not JA Social – I found info on that one) plug in? I would so appreciate that!

Hello Digartco,

Regarding your issues, I have some fowllowing note:

– We have an user guide of JA social plugin here

– All facebook account has an id, you can get it by visitting the page
https://graph.facebook.com/joomlart
replace “joomlart” with your account name in url, then you will see some information about data, included account id. But our plugin only support to get data from public facebook page, not profile.

Please try to delete all content of cache.txt file in folder of JA social feed plugin (plugins/system/jasocial_feed/cache/cache.txt) and import again

– you can not change folder for youtube videos? Please send me your admin detail in PM for further checking

And in JA Social Feed you don’t have find and insert Facebook Fan Page ID, you can just insert facebook name.
For example, here is the link of Joomlart Fan Page: https://www.facebook.com/joomlart, now you can insert only joomlart
