As this is a directory, search and organization is key.

    I have this data

    Location
    Australia
    United States
    UK

    Category
    Cleaner
    Photographer
    Event Planner

    Businesses
    Biz A
    Biz B
    Biz C

    URL
    http://thedomain.com/{Location}/{Category}/{Businesses}
    e.g.
    http://thedomain.com/australia/cleaner/biz-a

    What I have done now
    K2 category

    • Australia
      • Cleaner
      • Photographer
      • Event Planner
    • United States
      • Cleaner
      • Photographer
      • Event Planner
    • UK
      • Cleaner
      • Photographer
      • Event Planner

    Extra fields (JA K2 Filter)

    • Country
      • State

    The problem
It’s fine if its a single country like the demo, but problems arise when its multi country as can be seen how K2 categories are created, and the drop down of the search for categories will have multiple duplicates because of the categories duplication with different parent countries so if i search for category cleaner, 3 will appear.

    Solution
Please help with advice on the solution? My other idea was to also create tags for categories, and allow for searching via tags. Is there a better way?

What about adding parent category to the sub category, like Cleaner (Australia) . I’ll ask the developer if he could help you this custom.

    Thats what I did… i have a parent:

    Australia…

    then children:
    Cleaner
    Photographer

    then ANOTHER parent

    United States…

    and children again..
    Cleaner
    Photographer..

So you see the problem…. if i search for cleaner, i will get TWO results …

I mean we’ll add parent name behind sub category.
Then if you search for Cleaner, 3 same results will appear, but distinguish by their parents’ name.
    Like:

    • Cleaner (Australia)
    • Cleaner (United States)
    • Cleaner (UK)

That’s my idea, what do you think ?
