I did not install the QUICKSTART. I just installed the template … I usually do not get errors … I install templates for more than five years, I am not a newbie .. :laugh:

Do make sure you check your permissions within your file structure – both for folders (755) and files (644)

I’m using Godaddy serving and I’m not sure what is going on. I have unziped two levels of the downloaded Joomlart file. Then I unziped the second level in Quickstart.
Now I have all these files but you seem to be only interested in the second level.
Normally I would have these files in the TMP/qstart1 directory and try to use the Extension Manager to do the installation. This results in a message that I should enter a package directory.
I’m not sure that is what makes a Quickstart work.
There is also no public directory. Should that be the root directory or something else?
I’m also only installing the template and it’s associated files, not a new Joomla installation.
I’d appreciate if a clearer explaination of the Step-by=Step guide is possible.
Which files go where? Which of the main zip file files goes where? Where is the second zip file files go?
Godaddy hosting is not that different from anywhere else.

I copied the second level files to the root directory and brought up the site. I get a message:
PLEASE REMEMBER TO COMPLETELY
REMOVE THE INSTALLATION DIRECTORY.
You will not be able to proceed beyond this point until the installation directory has been removed. This is a security feature of Joomla!.
I don’t know what this means and it is not mentionedint ehstep-by-step instructions.
I also am not starting a new site and want to keep all the previous setup, menu. pages, categories, etc.
The Quickstart doesn’t seem to mention keeping all the old stuff and layering the new template on top.

Hi

The quickstart package install a new joomla core + our template customized ( an exact copy of the demo site ) in the process installation you have seen install sample data that step make an import in the database of our customized modules plugins and components. at the end of installation it requires to delete the installation dir
So if you want a site exact reply of our demo you need quickstart package otherwise if you have your site with your modukes and your customization you need to install a new component called akeeba backup it makes a backup of your site and after it can install your site in a web server exactly as the quickstart package but with your components plugins and customized modules

I managed to install. It was a server problem (arvixe.com) … Arvixe promises unlimited disk space, but after all, is a lie. I had to delete some files in order to install stuff … It’s weird, I have little installed… :laugh:
