module-2 looks re-sized on my site. This happened after I tried to create /template/ja_platon/css/custom.css file which is now deleted.

Is this the best way to create custom css overrides in the template (by creating /template/ja_platon/css/custom.css)?

Hi
its not from the custom.css file , the module position are resized from the template options > Layout > Responsive layout > Large > Select the module position and drag it to right to increase the size .
