I would like to know why the width is set to 950 and if it makes a difference if I set it at 960-970-980?

I thinks its a generic to make sure that the template will diplay properly on all screen sizes. I do alot of work on a wide screen, but on a reg sized screen the template can be distorted, This maybe why…but not sure
