    Hi,

How I can make URL to be as we wont?

Here is an link were is the issue: http://t-group-2.cloudaccess.net/index.php/country/joomla-page/serbia

I am not sure from where this part from above “joomla-page” comes from? either “/country/”

I would like to have something like this: http://t-group-2.cloudaccess.net/index.php/country/serbia

    without: “/joomla-page/”

I was thinking if you create menu in this case:
    1. Choose a country
    2. Serbia

I should have an link: http://t-group-2.cloudaccess.net/index.php/Choose-a-country/serbia

Also I do not need this part as well: /index.php/

    So should be http://www.domainname.com/choose-a-country/serbia

Can you please let me know from where /joomla-page/ part comes from and how I can deleted.

    Thank you in advance

Thank you Phill I’ll contact my hosting company to find out if I can do this. On the other hand in case if my hosting company dosen’t support this can you recommend same good hosting company for Joomla websites and with this features that you mentioned?

Thank you for your quick replay and your support in regard to this matter.

    All the best,
    Branko

They are just settings. It should work on your current host. You can adjust those settings in the Joomla back end. The htaccess file you simply edit with a text editor and upload.

    Phill,

I am not sure if this worked out!

I have done set up in global configuration as you mentioned on the video. (attached picture: .htaccess.JPG)

Then, I have changed htaccess.text to htaccess! I have question here do you put dot (.) before htaccess.
    Should be: .htaccess or
    htaccess (without dot)

Attached picture of file as well and I send earlier user name and password for my account.

I am not sure what else I should try in order to solve this issue. or can you just please let me know from my first post from where this path “/joomla-page/” in my URL comes from?

    Thank you in advance,
    Branko

You will need to place the . In front so the file name would be .htaccess

Once you have done that get back to me and I will look at your back end settings.

Here we go Phill, I just made this change.

Everything is working as it was. Here is one of the link with what I have an issue:
    http://t-group-2.cloudaccess.net/country/joomla-page/serbia.html

I do not understand from where “/joomla-page/” and “/country/” comes from?

The country and Joomla page menu items were coming from your menu structure. I have change the items from “External URL” to “Text Separator” so you can see the alias assigned to them. To adjust the re-wrtten output you could use sh404sef or use a rewrite rule but I’m not too hot at setting those up so maybe ask on the Joomla forums or any good apache forum where they can explain creating rewrite rules. It might sound complicated but it is actually quite simple.

Great Phill, thank you so much for your time and support in regard this matter.

I highly appreciated it. This has solved my problem.

I’ll try to learn more about your SEF recommendation ( .htaccess ) I am not sure what I am getting with that since it looks like on my template after I made those adjustment everything is it as it was. I look forward to see what is the benefits of this suggestion.

In regard to sh404sef it sounds complicated and I’ll like to keep staff as simple as possible.
    Once again Phill for everything.
