As Arvind stated, it will be release with the next round of J1.6 releases any time in the next few days. From what I hear a little more testing is being done to eliminate as many minor bugs as possible.

It should be the same as any migration from a J1.5 site to a J1.6 site. There are tools available on the JED that will do some of the work for you but as ever with this kind of work you may run into minor problems
