I don’t see a procedure for updating Ja_social 1.2.0 using “ja_social.v2.5.0.zip”. I’m currently using Joomla 2.5.1 with ja_social 1.2.0 and JomSocial 2.4.2

I only have to update ja_social template in this situation, correct? Exactly how do I do this?

Hi,

I already checked that area but see nothing similar to my situation. I don’t want to uninstall v1.2.0 or start all over with quickstart or reload JomSocial 2.4.2. I thought “ja_social.v2.5.0.zip” would be my best choice but there is no install in the zip or procedure list for how to do it. It doesn’t tell you to drag files to folders. Also, installing it through the extension manager doesn’t work. I really need a step-by-step procedure list for my situation and just update the template.

Can you provide anything specific?

You can do it with the JA Extenstion manager if you have that installed.

I tried installing the “Ja_social.v2.5.0.zip” through Joomla Extension Manager (like I did the template) and I believe it gave an Error 1. I’m not aware of the JA Ext Mgr you mention.

If you go to the JA Downloads you will be able to download and install the JA Extension Manager to carry out this update.
