I cannot update nor install a plugin/module either. When I try to install a either component or plugin, I get the following:

Warning
Table ‘carveral_webdbase.#__updates’ doesn’t exist

The update/install process continues, but, doesn’t complete successfully. What is wrong here?

On your site seems Joomla update table is missing.
Kindly apply the suggestion given here on Joomla forum to fix it.
