    Hi,
I used Ja Droid for this website: http://lotoazulhotel.com which is running on J! version 1.5
I am now migrating the website from J! v. 1.5 to J!2.5, and I am working on the 2.5 version of the template here:
    http://lotoazulhotel.com/jatc_droid_j25/
I installed K2 from the start in the 1.5v. website without any problem, and the icon for the K2 component is visible under the Components menu item in the admin.

However, when I try to install the latest K2 version (suitable for both 1.5-2.5 J! versions), in the 2.5 website, although the upload seems to work fine, I do not see the K2 component icon in the Components menu. The modules and the plugins do show-up in their respective sections and appear to be fine. The install seems to run fine judging from the results window showing a successful upload, but the component menu icon, nor the Control Panel K2 section that is created upon installation is created in the Control Panel window. I am having the same problem trying to install a different component (RokSproket) which I first thought was simply because is not your component, and shows the same kind of results, but the K2 failed install tells me there’s something else going on. I will appreciate your help and insights.

    Hi there,

Which version of K2 did you install? I tried to install with K2 version 2.5.7 with Joomla 2.5.6 and it works fine, I mean I can see it in Components menu.

    Hi,
    thank you for your help.
I downloaded the latest version from the K2 site…
I am still having the same problem, so I am going to re-install the template on a different server just to see what I get.
    I will post results.
Thanks again for looking into this.

    Hello,
I went and created a new demo for J!2.5 here: http://lotoazul2.5.landingpagesseo.com/
I tried to install again the K2 plugin and I got again the same response along with “Warning: Failed to move file!”
or “Failed to make a copy of the file”. I tried with different files, using the tmp folder and the url upload option, all with the same result
I can send logins if necessary.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
I opened a ticket with the hosting company and this is what they say:
“I was able to get the Quick Icons on the admin dashboard to show by enabling the module from the administrative panel, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get the menu item to show under Components. I’ve checked the server permissions and settings and they all seem to be fine. The K2 information page seems to return everything is installed properly as well”

I also see this upon login to the admin
“Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/lotoazul/public_html/jatc_droid_j25/administrator/modules/mod_k2_stats/tmpl/default.php on line 37

Can you tell me why this is happening with this template? Is this in fact, related to the template? I haven’t had this problem with any other of your templates yet.

    Thanks,
    Beatriz

    Hi,
I just tried to upload K2 to a different template on a local install and the upload worked fine. When I try to upload the component to the local copy of JA_Droid I get the same problem: only a partial install happens. I still get the Warning: “Another menu item with the same parent has this alias Error building Admin Menus” when trying to upload K2 or other components.

And more, just to be 100% sure, I downloaded ja_community version 2.5, installed it locally, and uploaded the K2 plugin without a glitch. Can somebody please look into the Ja_droid code and see if there’s a problem with the install aspect of the template?

    Hi there,

JA Droid for J!1.5 does support with K2 but with JA Droid for J!2.5 (and some other template in J!2.5), we are working on process to support K2 and have not released it yet.
