I’d like the blog layout that’s shown in the demo and in the config guide as shown in attached pic.

I’ve followed all instructions, created a category blog layout menu item, filled in the category ID number as shown in the attached pic. So far no go on getting the nice blog layout. Here’s a link to the page in question:

Dear fader8!

Please install another site on local using quickstart package. You should check the setting from blog of “quickstart” site to find your missing configuration.

OK, solved it. For anyone else who will undoubtably struggle with this, you need to ignore the instructions in the setup guide that tell you to use the category ID in the default layout overwrite. That won’t work. Instead, use the menu item ID for the category blog layout. That will work.

Also, if you have 2 menu items with different ID’s but point to the same category blog layout ID, that will break it and the enhanced blog layout won’t work.
