    Hi,

I’m using the EasyFAQ component (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,search/Itemid,35/searchword,easyfaq/cat_id,0/ and I’m having a problem with icons and text overlapping. See attachment.

There’s no overlap if I assign default joomla templates or various templates from JoomlaDesigns but it is the same in all the Joomlart templates I’ve tried from ja_pollux right up to ja_zabrina.

The result is the same in both FF2.0, IE6 & IE7

There are several “..onclick=toggleFaqWithAjax()..” in the html. The component can also be set to “onclick=toggleFaq()…” which is a javascript only version – the result is the same.

I’ve pasted the html generated below and it can be seen at my test site http://businessclarioncall.co.uk/index.php?option=com_easyfaq&Itemid=38

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Nick

Unfortunately I don’t know how to solve this. But be aware 🙂 Joomlart provides the templates and naturally it isn’t possible to also be able to fully function with all components and modules out there. So patience is necessary to get support. For urgent matters you can always drop in to http://www.joomlancers.com and ask for help there for a small fee. I am sure you will find the solution there or even search the Joomla.org forums. Probably something there. I mean, only while you wait for the support people here to get back to all the questions people have in here. More than 5000 members creates some sort of pressure.

<blockquote>Joomlart provides the templates and naturally it isn’t possible to also be able to fully function with all components and modules out there.</blockquote>

In general I would agree with you and I’m sure that the developers of EasyFAQ would make the same point. Nevertheless, if a component works with Joomla supplied templates, as well as other 3rd parties, I suggest that resolution should start from the Joomlart end and that, as a potential bug, Joomlart should at least acknowledge the point even if it is put in the ‘we’ll fix it some time’ pile.

I have worked out a fix for anybody else looking for a solution. Inserting normal space charas doesn’t work (they are ignored) and inserting _ charas looks untidy when viewing the FAQ itself. However inserting several hard space html codes –   – does work, at least in FF2 and IE7, by pushing the title out past the icon.

<blockquote>….only while you wait for the support people here to get back to all the questions people have in here</blockquote>
Being realistic, when support people respond it is to the current, ie latest questions. They are far less likely to trawl back through posts that are more than a few days old and which are likely to have either been resolved in some other way or no longer matter to the original poster.

Thank you for at least commenting even if you don’t (as far as I know..) work for Joomlart.
