January 5, 2009 at 12:55 pm #136738Hi all at this forum.
I have some problems with the new templates, in fact many. I’d like help with the following problems, and I mean full assistance – so that the page can get up and running – fast and quick help needed.
1. I want to keep the page looks like it is today, but under the running banner on the front, I would like JA News running – without sacrificing addition TopMenu or otherwise. It must be under the banner that is placed instead of JA-News_fp ….. and there must be 2 JA News side by side, and 2 below.
2. How, and in which line / file to change my height on the top, where the logo is …? I would like to have that part right. Can figure out that it is around line 845 (template_css.css )….
3. If it failed to use the template as it is designed where and in what file do I get the opportunity to enter the “body” as in the previous/old versions template ….. file line and the code?
Would also like to say that I been happy with Joomlarts template, but also seems that they are thrown out quickly in the market, there are too many things that do not work – unless you know all about joomla, your template and components .. ..
Joomla : 1.0.15 stable

Enable mod_janews to position ja-news and in the Catogories (Section) ID box enter those categories you want. Enter 4 categories and set ‘Columns’ to 2. This will give you 2 over 2 layout.

template_css.css (line 845)
#ja-header {
height:91px;
line-height:normal;
position:relative;
}

Sorry, I do not understand the question.

What does not work?
You do need to know the basics of Joomla, PHP, and CSS to be able to customise your template to your own needs or you could pay a professional web designer to do it for you.

joomla and templates are not a solution for not knowing anything
you do have to have basic html and php skills, as well as basic graphic skills, and an understanding of how components modules and plugins work together.
I don’t know of any point and click DIY solutions.
Keep asking questions and take the time to learn. For things like you asked above, have you tried email support

Hello again ….. and thanks for your reply.1. Has set all parameter in JA News module, which you described, and have only 1 up on the front, it is also abowe my banner …. it should be below ….. as I described. Can you get it with the information I sent you via mail …?
2. JA_Header – i have changed in line 845, then “Picture” split with a black line …… how do I get the black line back to the top again …?
3. With this issue, I thought, that I will be able to write the Content or static content and put it in frontpage, as it has been in previous templates ….
But in the file ….. where can I find the file where i need to make the change …. filename and line …?
Again, many thanks for your help ……
Best, Lasor

I didn’t receive any email. The order of positions is in the main content area are…- ja-news-fp
- banner1
- ja-news
- banner
So publish your banner to position ‘banner1’ and news module to ‘ja-news’ and the order should be correct.

2. JA_Header – i have changed in line 845, then “Picture” split with a black line …… how do I get the black line back to the top again …??? what did you change the height to that gave you a ‘split’?
3. With this issue, I thought, that I will be able to write the Content or static content and put it in frontpage, as it has been in previous templates ….
Vauxite has a special type of frontpage where news modules are used instead of articles. You can revert is back to a normal fron page. Look in the teline forum for instructions on how to do this.
