I am having this same issue. I made the change recommended by caz_blue in version 1.0.4 (came with Droid 1.6) and I cannot make any changes.. cannot save them at least. Really need some help on this!

Same for me. Did the . . . open (from root directory) modules/mod_jaslideshow/admin/helper.php and change false to true . . . as suggested in post link earlier which stopped the permission error but couldn’t change JA Slideshow settings and save. I also replaced the sl-1, etc. demo photos in the images/stories folder, but the JA Slidershow still displays the demo content? Now that’s weird.

But then, I logged out and re-logged in and I was able to make the changes without error. And after some searching I found that the demo photos were also loaded into the resized folder which was not as instructed in the user guide and when I replaced there, it all worked. Go figger.
