I have installed sh404sef and enabled it. In the advance settings, when you use “without .htaccess(index.php)” in rewriting mode, the url adds “index.php” for instance
    http://www.mysite.com/index.php/content.hml

I wanted it to look like
    http://www.mysite.com/content.html

So in the sh404sef advance tab when I use “with .htaccess(mode rewrite)” it produces 404 error even though the url display is correct http://www.mysite.com/content.hml

How do I resolve the error and get raid of the index.php in the url
    Thanks

Make sure you purge all the URLs and clease the cache then reload the page. Should work with that. And also if u are using it with .htaccess make sure you replace original .htaccess with the joomla one under root folder with label htaccess.txt.

    Hope that helps your issue

It’s working now, I had to delete an existing .htaccess from the root, then rename the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess
    Thanks
