I am using JA Lime Joomla 1.6 template.
In my global configuration, I have set:

Search Engine Friendly URL : Yes
    Use URL Rewriting: Yes
Add suffix to URLs : No
    Unicode Aliases: No
Include Site name in page titles : No

My urls are now shown as: mysite.com/index.php/menu

I want to do away with index.php – How do I achieve it?

    Thanks
    Pathik

    1. Open your .htaccess.
    2. Use some sort of text editor to remove the ‘#’ before the words ‘RewriteBase /
      1. For me, this was around line 53 of the .htaccess file.
    3. Now, try to navigate around your Joomla website. The index.php should be gone.
