Is it possible to restrict search module to search only in contacts and nothing else?

Hi there
Module search actually will send request to com_search. You can disable search plugins in your backend to limit search result.

Hi there
All searching on Joomla! ( core ) will go over search plugins.
By this way you can add or remove search plugins to limit searching scope.
