I would like to replace the default Joomla main menu with the Transmenu 2.0 component. How can I go about this?

Download JA Transmenu 2 and read the instructions that are included as well as the samples on the download page pretty basic stuff

If you use a JA template, you could enable Transmenu by changing the setting for $ja_menutype to 3 inside template index.php (following the user-guide instruction). If others, use JA Transmenu module.
