Did you put there all the Joomla files? Or just the template?

I guess that mod rewrite is not enabled in your apache server. There’re 2 solutions for your problem:

    1. Enable mod rewrite for apache.
    OR
    2. Rename or remove file .htaccess inside JA Teline quickstart package.

The .htaccess is used to enable SEF. Therefore, if you remove that file, you need goto your administrator and disable SEF.

    Hello and many thanks.
    – removed file.thaccess ( since I didnt know how to enable mod rewrite for apache
    – logged in as administrator
    – installed joomla with installer

result: Very nice template showing sample content.

The only thing I didnt get is SEF. What is SEF? Sonds like Search Engine … Something
Anyway. I am very pleased with nice design of JA Teline.

Hope I get Info in Forum how to change logo in header- was visiting tutorial, but found only old stuff….
Can you recommend tutorial for unexperienced members, ideally showing mods of templates etc step by step?
    Many thanks for prompt help

SEF (Search Engine Friendly) is basically this.

It will turn joomla links such as http://www.miccas.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=86 to something like this http://www.miccas.net/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,68
