I have downloaded the new template and try to install it on localhost but it looks like there is a problem with it.

It keeps altering the db collation to latin1_swedish_ci instead of utf8_general_ci

The default server collation for Wamp and Xampp is latin1_swedish so I am guessing there lies your problem. There is nothing in the sql files for the quickstart setting this.

Well this is happening only with this template, anyway i have fixed my db but i am not sure if this is only for me.
