I am able to preview changes such as logo update in admin/theme magic, but not on the frontend. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi

Did you tried to clean your cache from backend ?

Thanks. Just tried this and it worked. But only once.
Have cleared the cache on my browser, but it still won’t update.

What you mean with only once ?

If you clean your backend cache then latest changes applied should be visible also on front end
