    I have a joomla site that I have been working on for some time … How do I moove that to another server without loosing my content and setup ?

    I use JoomlaCloner to backup my site, which also makes moving it trivial.

    It’s a pay-for-play, but there’s a free option which allows you to do it if you jump through a few hoops. Nothing too awful, esp for a 1time thing, but for any “real” usage you’d want to backup regularly anyhow.

    There’re some other solutions for moving a site:

    1. Backup your hosting account and restore into new server. We often do this with cpanel control manager. You could also get advice from your hosting provider. (The new Provider often helps users to move their sites)

    2. Export your database and import to new server. Copy all joomla files/folders to new server and you may need change some configuration in configuration.php (host/user/pass/dbname for database, absolute path, live path).

    Hope you could move your site successfully.
