I cann’t find the logo-hot.psd source file corresponding to the /utahia_ii/images/logo-hot.gif.

The file should be found in the package JA Utahia II Source Files (PSD, FONT…), but it isn’t.

Do you know if the source does exist and from where is available?

the file is in the utahia II source files
load the logo-utahia-2.psd
use the ‘eye’ to turn on or off what you don’t want to see
open folder ‘hot’ edit your heart out

are you using utahia II or plain utahia?
utahia ii has that file in the source utahia does not? I think maybe utahia II was upgraded one time to includes some files maybe here is the file

Working on the text layer, If you select all the text in the original PSD, then backspace to clear it, your new text should inherit the effect already in the layer.

I followed your steps. I am still not having any luck. I deleted the original text and typed in the new logo text. Still the reflection remains to be that of the original text.

I can now see that the file we’re talking about was never delivered with the source package. Shannon sent you a link to it, and the link is now broken. From what you’re saying, it sounds as if the drop reflection is a seperate layer. So you’ll have to create the effect yourself. This is not the place to give you a photoshop tutorial, but I’m sure if you google or check the CS doc you’ll find the help you need. You could try this video tutorial, people have said good things about it, though I have not looked:

Thanks. The Utahia II source contains two logo files (logo.psd and logo_dark.psd). It seems, that the logo_dark.psd is incomplete. The fresh-layer only contains the logo background.
