My site has developed a strange problem…

I’ve created a menu item that is a K2 Category listing. There’s only a few items listed and it looks as I’d expect. However, when I open any of the items, they are using the Home page layout, not the category layout.

I’ve noticed the links to the items are not correct. For example, if the menu for the K2 category has an alias of category, I can reach it at: http://siteaddress/category (which is what your expect). But the links to the items don’t have the category in the URL, so instead of http://siteaddress/category/item/item1 I’m getting http://siteaddress/item/item1

This is basically ruining the entire site and I really need a solution!

    Thanks

I’ve figured out a solution, but I still don’t know why this was happening.

I’d altered the template layout for Home so that it didn’t hide the main content block. I’d then changed the menu type for Home to be a K2 category page, as I wanted some items on the home page. This must be what was causing the issue for some reason.

I’ve changed the home layout and menu item back to the original settings and instead used a K2 content module and this is working well so far.:)
