March 29, 2011 at 6:56 pm #162102I decided to test 2 columns in K2 blog view, set Primary and Secondary to show Small pictures (small is set to 200 px width in K2 global specs), but pics won’t resize. I’m getting 2 columns, titles and texts are OK (sort of), but pics remain Large.
Anyone experienced such a problem?

March 30, 2011 at 9:57 am #384017Well it is there in the K2 global specs – all sizes are defined in px. In addition I even went on to add overriding values in the categories and that didn’t help as well.

April 2, 2011 at 1:52 am #384499Please do the following to set size for k2 thumbnail:
– Open templates/ja_teline_iv/css/k2.css
– Edit this code:
div.catItemIntroText img, div.genericItemIntroText img {
border: 1px solid #DDDDDD;
margin-bottom: 20px;
padding: 3px;
}
to
div.catItemIntroText img, div.genericItemIntroText img {
border: 1px solid #DDDDDD;
margin-bottom: 20px;
padding: 3px;
width:140px;
}
You should change 140px to suit your ideas and design.1 user says Thank You to thangnn1510 for this useful post

April 4, 2011 at 10:09 am #384760I’ll try it, but I was wondering why the preset options in the K2 global config do not work? It’s all defined there, but system won’t recognize the image classes or I don’t know.
Thanks for the code.

April 7, 2011 at 7:29 pm #385313I tried that also – I’ve set image sizes inside the categories – didn’t work as well. I’m using telineiv profile (not default).
Serious issue for me as I need to keep only Large images setting as small setting does not produce small images in Primary and Secondary items.

April 11, 2011 at 3:03 pm #385789Hellow from Moscow. Let me share my view on your problem. Or better just follow these directions:
0- Quit messing with CSS code.
1- While creating article in K2 DO NOT use the tab “Image” (in the top) and insert your picture in content usinb BUTTON “Image” in the bottom. Don’s ask me why – just do it.:)
2- Then go to picture’s properties and choose class “caption”. IMPORTANT: in order to access this option you first have to go to your Editor – TinyMCE 2.0 plugin and enable Functionality “Extended”.
3- Now it is important what kind of menu type you choose. Even if you wanna put together several K2 categories, don’t you try to use “Latest items from (one or more) users or categories” and choose “Categories” instead. Then you can pick whatever K2 categories you wish, using Shft or Ctrl with your mouse. Again don’t ask.
Now your images shoud get a nice border with padding and get the size which is set in style sheet. Isn’t that easy? Drop me a line how it worked out.obliat Friendobliat

April 11, 2011 at 3:10 pm #385791And hi from Bulgaria
I’ll test it all right away.
Спасибо, попробую!
1. I mostly work with the code inside articles starting with <img src=”images/stories/IMAGE_NAME_HERE” alt=”TEXT” class=”caption” title=”TEXT” />
2. Part of my code
3. I am using Categories when making a menu K2 type – not sure what “Latest items from users or categories” is?So I think I am doing it all the way you suggest and still getting those results – I actially almost do not use image TAB ot BUTTON anyway.
April 11, 2011 at 3:47 pm #385798Bulgaria? Cool!! I went skiing this winter in Borovets. Was fun.
Now listen up. I attached two pitctures. As you can see 1st one is OK and 2nd is a mess. The only difference – is the menu type (in 1st case it is “Categories”). I am not sure that your case axactly fits the discription, but try to do exactly as I said. I think that the key issue is menu type – believe it or not. Good luck any way.-

April 11, 2011 at 4:18 pm #385806Nice, Borovetz skiing – good.
The problem is that I already have “Categories” menues (K2>Item listings>Categories) and still my images are like you second picture.
April 12, 2011 at 11:20 am #385931That’s weird. May be you should try to get to the bottom of the problem with Firebug…:((
I am just wonderring (returning to your very 1st post): why you are writing:
“…set Primary and Secondary to show Small pictures (small is set to 200 px width in K2 global specs), but pics won’t resize…”
If you insert pictures in content as you’ve said (not using “Image” tab) these settings should have no effect anyay.
Oh. well. Go figure!
And by the way, if you don’t need extra fields feature, you could nicely cope with all problems posting you content in Joomla articles manager (not in K2). Joomla’s blog layout looks much more professional frankly speaking. And no mess with picture resizing and thumbnails. -
