    Hello everyone,

Let’s welcome Drupal into our theme/template Club members! We have been working hard on the last few months on both Joomla & Drupal Framework

Why it took us so long?

Well, we could have been able to make this happen a long long time ago by finalizing some good concepts, choosing some of the best Joomla designs and start coding the css/html in a couple of weeks, uploading to the download, setting prices and open the club.

We decided on not doing that way. “Quick & Dirty” won’t be a long term business strategy and moreover, we have to maintain our name and high standards by providing quality products.

We worked hard on the framework development and now here we are, with unique features for our Drupal Themes & Modules.

    Drupal 6 or 7?

Firstly, we had to make our choice on Drupal 6 or Drupal 7 and look at what is the best approach we should take. I have been reviewing Drupal daily, and studying the coding carefully to see which is the best version to start with. And Drupal 6 became our choice because with all the code work preparations, we wont have any problem shifting to a Drupal 7 compatible versions.

    Why Framework ?

This is the most time-consuming decision and the decision has brought us with the long preparation for the themes & module development for the opening.

Web Development is not just about making a good looking design but also being flexible, reusable, customizable for developers, and easy to use for users. Drupal, Joomla or any CMS template/theme development is no longer works of designers, making a good template/theme is now a big project of all stakeholders especially creative designers, interface designers, front-end developers and an usability expert who normally acts as project manager trying to put everyone into a good work flow, and step by step fine tune the template until it is perfect. Designers can be asked to constantly change the graphic elements to best serve the flexibility of usage and developers are asked to improve the code to increase the template performance. The most difficult job for one of our designers is to make the template beautiful, but also usable for a variety of purposes. For coders, it is how to reproduce the design concept into semantic HTML/CSS using lightweight Javascript and smart PHP codes. At JA, we try our best to reduce heavy images and try to use more stylesheets to design the interface. It will be faster for the site and easier for any later customization by user and fellow developers.

And to smooth all of this process, a flexible, stable & robust engine is called for, a good template/theme framework for either Joomla, Magento template or Drupal theme must be created.

However, the framework should not be too sophisticated, it should be simple but powerful and flexible for all kind of design as well as ready for expansion & customization by 3rd party developers. That is the mission of any “framework”, however. There have been a lot of developed css/html frameworks, we tried it our ways, taking user requirements, our development, upgrade, management workflows into consideration and creating a good management system for both Joomla and Drupal, and we name it JAT3 & JDT3, they both have the same “CPU & RAM” but being put into “Joomla” & “Drupal” colorful cases

We can tell you more about the framework, but maybe in another post later. Let’s get back to the main points we are offering now at the club opening.
