I have a couple of issues but can not determine if the fault lies within Virtuemart or the Joomla Template.

1. The joomla pathway is doubling up the menu when clicked on the left hand menu (this menu is created through the joomla menu structure pointing to each specific category).

2. For the first time entiring the website you click on the Top Menu Item ‘Shop Now’ it goes to the cateogory ‘Weddings’, everytime after this is goes to the correct location.

3. After getting into the Virtuemart Category layout and clicking on one of the categories it will always display in the pathway ‘Weddings’ even if you are in a totally difference category.

Congratulations!

It appears as though you have solved each of these issues as I cannot make any of your noted troubles occur for me.

1. I see no doubling up…a clean good looking menu
2. I’m always sent to the “Shop Now” category from any page in the site, including the front page
3. I can only enter Weddings…if I click weddings.

Your site appears to be working correctly.

Thanks for your response, but the issues are still occurring.

1. The doubling up occurs in the pathway not the menu.
2. Only on the first attempt to go to “Shop Now” it sends you to the weddings category.
3. When I click on for example Engagements Parties in the left hand side menu in the pathway it doubles up the links to Engagement Parties, then when i go to a lower category, for example Engagement Party Decorations & Party Ware in the pathway it adds Weddings after Home.

Hope this is better explained, if not I will create some screen shots.

1 . & 3. Can you describe what you mean by “Doubling Up” – perhaps I’m misunderstanding.
2. Aha! You’ve been bitten by the VirtueMart Cookie (check) Monster. 🙂

Here’s the URL that SHOP NOW is throwing when cookies and cache are clear:

Virtuemart, trying to be helpful, is appending Vmcchk to check if cookies are enabled in your users client agent.

You can disable adding this to URLs in the VirtueMart Configuration.
Go to VirtueMart Configuration / Core Setting / Enable the Cookie Check.

See what happens when you turn it off. It really won’t impact anything…it just “checks”…it doesn’t really impact the users experience adversely. At the worse, when he returns, he might have to fill in a few of the same blanks again. But then that’s why he turned his cookies off in the first place. 🙂

So checking for cookies is really silly, imho.

I want to reopen this post as all aspects of it were not resolved.

I am still having issues with the pathway always displaying “wedding” when i enter into a virtuemart area. Wedding is the first category of the shopping cart.

If you go into the wedding category it displays wedding twice in the pathway
If you go into a category other than wedding it will still display wedding then the category you entered.
