I don’t know where to begin to implement the Calendar function in Joomla 3.4 with JA Purity III template.

Can you please advise me on the most basic steps to get the Joomla Date Picker to work?

When I insert: JHtml::_(?behavior.calendar?); in the index.php file, I get an error. http://screencast.com/t/i0Xog2NHYt

I would rather use the Joomla date picker instead of loading the JQuery Date Picker.

I am a beginner. Thank you.

You issue is Joomla! development not JA issue. Please contact Joomla! for detail.
And actually you can also check current Joomla! core to extract that code
