I get th same menu problem so I had to switch to jomsocial template I think it is problem wit ja social custom jomsocial template …

what version you are using for jomsocial.
because there is compatiblity problem between ja-social and jomsocial 2.2
so A Social template will be updated to support for JomSocial 2.2 at the end of this month.
