I have set the JA-News module to display only on the home page but it is displaying on all pages (ex. under each news story). Is this by design?

All your menu items are linked to same page ie… http://www.custom-site-design.com/blackfoot/#. You need to link your menu to pages within your website.

This is a joomla related problem. Whenever Joomla core cannot find a page related to the page you are viewing (find out a Itemid), it assumes that page is homepage (Itemid=1). Therefore, the page will display all items assigned to Home page (including JA News). To avoid this situation, you should create a page (a menu item) pointing to the News section.

Thanks, this seems to be my problem – could you please explain how to create a menu item pointing to the News section? Thanks !

In your administrator panel, click Menu->mainmenu, then add a menu item point to News sesction.

Not working for me. I use Virtuemart and the ja-news shows up on every page.

I selected Ja-news to only show on the News Section, that works, but I want it to show on my frontpage.

    Thanks

I have the same problem (http://perfumecritic.com/joomla2) and I’m afraid I don’t understand this advice: “add a menu item point to News sesction“. I want to turn off Ja-news on all my other pages.

It seems a number of us have the same question, can someone offer explicit, step-by-step instructions?

    Thanks!

    Ok, I got it fixed:

Site Modules>Ja-News>when looking at the module page, at the right of the page, under pages/items I click on “mainmenu/home” and this turns off Ja-news on all othe rpages.

I have only “mainmenu/home” selected in the page/items for Ja-news and Ja-new still shows beneath the content of another page.

select at content link and see.

    Thanks

It looks like the JA News Module is set on All in the Menu settings. I would double check to see if you didn’t save the change to mainmenu/home when you exited the JA News Module. While you are there look at what version you are on and make sure it says JA News 1.1.1.
