April 13, 2016 at 11:39 pm #917749Hello, I’ve had this template installed on a site for some time and I notice when opening it’s a bit slow, sometimes gets stuck with endless loading. It happens on only on article items that are 5 deep in from main categories. example: parent category> category>2 category>3 category>4 category>5
example: http://www.israeltourismconsultants.com/Travel/Destinations/Israel/Christian-Tours/Footsteps-of-Jesus-Holy-Land-Israel-Tour/overview
I’m using latest 3.5.1 however I have had this issue from install. I use sh404SEF and currently using On – Progressive cache, however have tried with conservative, as well as OFF. I also have all system cache enabled.
I first thought it could be the sh404 component however same thing happens when I disable it. Did I maybe go to deep with categories? has this affected performance or have you heard that this affects speed?
Help is very much appreciated, jc

April 14, 2016 at 4:30 am #917827Hi JC,
In my opinion, how deep the category is will not relate much to the performance here. There are several reasons such as:
- Is your host is good enough?
- The connection between your host and social network: Youtube, Disqus,… if this connection is not good, it may slow down site.
- Optimised CSS/ JS file : you can enable this option via template manager
You can try with one of these tools mentioned in our blog post for further checking: https://www.joomlart.com/blog/news-updates/tools-and-tips-to-check-joomla-site-speed-and-improve-performance
Hope this helps.

Kindly check whether these images persist or not and check where you use these images on your site and change to correct path.

April 21, 2016 at 3:06 am #920716As I can see from the sources, these files come from a 3rd party plugin on your site called ‘scripturelinks’.
Could you please check this plugin? and see which files of this plg call those images.

April 21, 2016 at 6:16 pm #921117Thanks yes, that was the plugin creating the 404 links. I played around with a couple of settings and have that cleared. I’m also trying out cloudflare.com, free service, and hope it will also help improve.

April 27, 2016 at 7:08 pm #923635I really recommend this plugin:
https://www.jch-optimize.net
pro version helped with page speed insight for google analyzer a lot for things like, Eliminate Render-Blocking Javascript and CSS.jc
