All of a sudden and out if the blue I started getting an SQL error when accessing the settings interface of JA News Pro.

    Table 'rtvn:televisionhispana_live.q9lxy_k2_categories' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT m.* FROM q9lxy_k2_categories m WHERE trash = 0 AND m.published = '1' ORDER BY parent, ordering

K2 has never been installed on this site, therefore the error is all the more mysterious.
Moreover, this site was NOT built from the quickstart package.

I must reiterate that this error appeared out of nowhere.

    Hi,

With this kind of issue with database, the common solution is going to Backend > Extensions > Manage > Database (you can see in the left panel) > Click Fix button.

I did it on your site and you can see the backend of your site is working as well now

Let know me if it helps

    Regards

Correct and thank you very much.
But now I have another problem.
It is not possible to save settings in JA News Pro. Clicking Save or Save & Close does nothing.

The JS error console throws the following error:

[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) (helper.php, line 0)
[Error] TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'result.profile')
        (anonymous function)
        (anonymous function)
        (anonymous function)
        forEach
        (anonymous function)
        each
        fireEvent
        (anonymous function)
        onFailure
        (anonymous function)
        failure
        (anonymous function)
        onStateChange
        (anonymous function)
        (anonymous function)

However, helper.php has the right permissions for this server environment (with suPHP enabled).
All files are set to 644 and belong to user cbrigade.

    ls -l modules/mod_janewspro/admin/japrofile/helper.php
    -rw-r--r-- 1 cbrigade cbrigade 2090 Mar 3 13:30 modules/mod_janewspro/admin/japrofile/helper.php

As my earlier post made very clear, I am aware of the error.
However, the file in question has the right permissions.
I’ will check if he error is related to Akeeba Admin Tools.
Must add that only this particular module is throwing the error.

JA Newspro module needs to change directly from file below.

    modules/mod_janewspro/admin/japrofile/helper.php?jaction=save&profile=nex_sidebar

You can request to Admin Tools component and ask them to make the permission access it
