I would like to list all events in order of their event date, but there seems to be no configuration option for it?

This ACM support order of the articles dates using the Dates u published on the articles only . You can control the order of articles from the Publishing dates : http://prntscr.com/a3f8rx

Ok, that’s a pity as an list of events should be somehow ordered by the event date. Any hint where to extend the code?

Hi
Module use default Joomla article order options . You need to pretty custom work to define new order in the acm file /templates/ja_charity/acm/events/tmpl/list.php and in list.xml . I afraid it may need pretty custom work and its out of support scope . You may hire a developer for this custom work or u can use the order from module options and set it as Article manager order it may help u.
