I see on the main page that jacomment should be “easy to integrate” with other components.

I would like to integrate comments with a component that does not keep data in the content table. I see that there used to be a guide about how to integrate with k2, but this has been replaced with native k2 integration (the link no longer appears to work, or at least I can’t access it: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-comment-in-k2/). I’d like to get my hands on that tutorial.

Help appreciated.

I’m a little disappointed that this went without a reply (I waited a few days and even opened a support ticket but got no reply. I am, however, super happy that JACOMMENT is easy to integrate – once I had the right information, it literally took 2 minutes.

I finally found the answer to this buried in the forums of another site:

You need the component name and unique ID for the content you’d like to have comments work on, and then add to your component’s PHP add the following code:
echo “{jacomment contentid=$id option=com_extension contenttitle=$title}”;

(of course, customized to your site)
