It seems your site is on localhost, can u put the site live so that I can test is to check this issue for you.
You can also check the JA Wall demo site to see if you have the same issue with the demo site.

How can I login to the backend of the demo site? The demo site has the menu working properly. In my intranet, the menu in IE steps down, instead of coming accross the nav position

We figured out what was wrong. We had intranet sites showing on compatibility view. Thanks

You are welcome!
In the compatibility view of IE its load’s unsupported version of IE(IE 7) that does not load page well.
