So I went to users options in Joomla and selected “none selected” has the option but the captcha is still showing up… is there some where else I need to go to turn it off?

FYI the site is in development mode.

any help is much appreciated.

You can do that because captcha on JA Tiris is option on K2 component.

<blockquote>Admin area->Components->K2->Parameters button->Advances tabs->Enable reCaptcha on registration form(set No) and Save</blockquote>

Remember to clear cache from Admin area. Captcha on registration page will get disabled then.
