Hello. I want to have a mass_bot column on the home page for news items that are editable by the web site owner (publisher) using the frontend editor. Also, the owner needs to be able to edit the newsflash items. Can anyone tell me how can I give access to the publisher to these areas through the frontend editor? (At the moment they only have access to the articles in the central column or main content area).:confused:

I had the same problem.
The solution I found and working great is this component : LINK

You can also set a menu link in User Menu to Submit Content and set the permision to Special.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your support! I had a look at the link to myContent in Joomla extensions, but am a little concerned as

• it is 1.0 native compatible, and I am running 1.5.5
• some of the comments worry me, especially :-

“you can publish and see if it YOU are logged in, but it doesn’t appear if you’re not logged in.
What’s the point of publishing content to a site if noone but you can see it?”

However, it got me thinking. I found that as a logged in user/editor, I COULD get editor access to the news item via the list in LATEST NEWS. This means that Joomla CAN give front-end editing access to these news items, just not through the modules. So I tried adding the news article to the User Menu, and guess what, it works! Now the user/owner can click on the link in their user menu and edit the item.:)

Maybe Joomlart might want to mention this in their user documentation, so web site owners/editors can have front end access to their news items.:D
