I am having the same problem. I can get thumbnails and images to show – but not descriptions.

I used to have the previous JA SlideShow 2 and used the following code (but it does not seem to work with the new slideshow).

    <h1>Title Text</h1>
    <p>Paragraph Text.</p>

    <h1>Title Text 2</h1>
    <p>Paragraph Text 2.</p>

OK – I have got my descriptions working – I had to have the correct mod_jaslideshow2.css file in the /httpdocs/templates/ja_kyanite_ii/css folder and remove the ja.slideshow2.css from the folder. Also I had to remove the /httpdocs/templates/ja_kyanite_ii/html/mod_jasideshow folder.

Ok – I’ll explain. First of all I use the JA Kyanite II template. However the slideshow that comes with it is slightly older and/or different than the slideshow that comes with Rasite (the “revamped” slideshow). I wanted to use the revamped slideshow with my JA Kyanite template.

    1. I have my JA Kyanite II already installed and working.
    2. I uninstalled the Slideshow 2 module that came with JA Kyanite (make sure it uninstalls cleanly – if not – you may have change permissions and/or manually deleted folders/files).
    3. Download and unzip the JA Rasite package – but only install the JA Slideshow module. If it says there is an existing module – then you have to physically deleted the files/folders that it is talking about. Then retry install.
    4. Find the mod_jaslideshow2.css from the JA Rasite package and copy over the existing file in the /httpdocs/templates/ja_kyanite_ii/css folder
    5. Remove the ja.slideshow2.css from the same folder as above.
    6. Remove the /httpdocs/templates/ja_kyanite_ii/html/mod_jasideshow folder.
    7. Enable/publish the JA Slideshow module
    8. Configure the slideshow module (choose images – rather than text).
    9. Put your images into a location in the images folder
    10. Configure your module to point to this location.

That’s all I can be bothered to say. The rest of the detail you can find in these forums here …

I’m using the new JA community template which comes with the JA Slideshow II module. I purchased this in November 2010, and downloaded at that time.

SET UP: I loaded the quickstart version in one folder with data. http://www.netaddictionrecovery.net/addictionsite
SET UP: I installed all of the modules for JA Community into our existing site. http://www.netaddictionrecovery.net

There seems to be two different versions of the slideshow II module. One in the download, and one in the quickstart version. They do not match. The downloaded and installed version has more options.

The problem I am having is that the images show up, but the descriptions in the module do not show up at all. I left the descriptions already in the module, and named my images the same names as what it is pointing to and still nothing.

    Help?
Description I’ve left in the desc field:

    <h3>Top 10 Math Professors in LA</h3>
<p>Youth Education gives kids endless possibilities to meet new friends, explore new interests & develop their talents</p>

File on my server for images contains the following files:

    sl-1.jpg
    sl-2.jpg
    sl-3.jpg

Although I don’t want to grab articles from a category (i just want to use an image folder with descriptive text in module, it requires either a selection for categories or keyword even though the instruction manual does not show this as an options in the ja userguide. It’s like there are two different versions.
