Getting “permission denied” error on my Teline JA news homepage (line 52) in IE6. See attached image. Anyone know what that might be. My guess is that I need to change a file or directory permission somewhere. Any clues from the forum would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I guess that your live site setting is http://www.ronpaulonline.com while you access your site from http://ronpaulonline.com. This will cause a permission error for ajax to fetch new content.

Khanh Le;18033I guess that your live site setting is http://www.ronpaulonline.com while you access your site from http://ronpaulonline.com. This will cause a permission error for ajax to fetch new content.

If this is the case, you can change the setting in configuration.php
    look for the line with:

    $mosConfig_live_site = 'http://www.yoursite.com';

    if it says http://www.yoursite.com

    change it to

    http://yoursite.com

    or vice versa.

with yoursite being the url of your site.

Yes, you are both correct. I had setup my live_site as http://1candidate.org and was accessing it via IE6 using http://www.1candidate.org – this is what caused the error.

I have been using 1candidate.org as I develop the site, but it will ultimately launch as ronpaulonline.com.

My question is this….can I establish multimple domain names as live_site names? I have several domain parked in the same locations…..ronpaulonline.org, ronpaulonline.com; 1candidate.com, etc. How do I allow users to apply any of these domains without an error?

I guess I can alway do a redirect in my DNS settings to the live_site address. Any other more eloquent solutions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi
Should I call you stephen? 🙂

I think you would have more luck asking this question in the Joomla.org forum, but pointing the domains in DNS will do the trick.

    Okay, I’ll try joomla.org. Thanks
