How do I get the front page content to look like the demo. I mean one on top of the other. My content keeps coming out with one on top and two side by side on the bottom.

You can set that in Menu>Main Menu>Home, on right side there you have some parameters to adjust it on.
# Leading
# Intro
Columns
# Links
