This seems to be a standard feature of many WordPress themes. I know that Joomla users often implement CSS hacks to make it work. Could someone at Joomlart or in the community tell me the best way to implement a CSS-animated header which resizes on scroll? It would be great to see this added as a stock feature which doesn’t require custom coding.

My goal is to publish a tutorial which will be of use to the entire community of Joomlart users.

    Hi Jim,

    Any sample of this animation?

It’s a pretty typical stock WordPress theme.
Many hundreds of thousands – perhaps millions – of WordPress sites have similar cool header accordion animation.
If I’m going to stick with Joomla, I need to be able to match the other guys’ razzle dazzle.
I know what I want to do is possible but not easy.
Here’s a Joomlart site which uses a custom CSS header animation.

I can’t be the only club member who wants to learn this.
    Thanks,

Here’s where WordPress is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHlLg5dnLbQ
    Almost totally drag-and-drop design.
Is Joomlart working on something comparable?
I’ve been a Joomla loyalist for a long time but am re-evaluating.

It requires combination of JS and CSS 3, you can google it, there are tutorials for this kind of animation.

Yes I’ve done so, but they are incomplete and not guaranteed to work with T3. So I hope others will contribute to a tutorial which I can publish here for everyone who wants to achieve this common effect with a JA template.

I guess this is my last call for help before switching to one of the other Joomla template builders who include sticky collapsing headers as a stock feature, with no need for custom coding. I get it that Joomlart support is not going to offer any more guidance. I still hope though that someone from the community will pick up this thread. Not being able to achieve this common cool effect marks us behind the times – even obsolete.

    Hi,

We do provides templates supporting sticky features and there is blog post here: https://www.joomlart.com/blog/news-updates/sticky-and-off-canvas-navigation-for-your-responsive-ja-argo-and-t3-framework-on-joomla-25-30

If you have your site running without sticky feature, you can apply above solution and let us know if you need helps.

FYI: not every like to have sticky, many people asked for how to disable it.

Thanks, I will follow the thread. This simple plugin exists. https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/ju-sticky-panel
Sticky can be applied to any element or module via div class name.
I agree that the effect can be annoying, but there are always customers who want the latest razzle dazzle. Even when customer opts out, we are expected to demonstrate the capability as part of proving competence.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jim,

We’re also aware of that and always try to include the sticky menu in our templates, however, it comes with templates only. There will be discussion on update it as feature in T3 framework so it can be easier.

Let me know if you need further helps.

    Regards
