– You replace this code from templatesja_teline_ivblockstopbar.php

echo "<span class="day">".date ('D')."</span>";
with

echo "<span class="day">".JHTML::date('now', 'D')."</span>";
– You find code from languageen-GBen-GB.ini

SAT="Sat"
SUN="Sun"
MON="Mon"
TUE="Tue"
WED="Wed"
THU="Thu"
FRI="Fri"

and change bold text as you want to
