hi

my query is even more basic than most – i can’t upload the Avian II QS file to get started. i have now been sat here watching it ‘upload’ [who knows] for 47 minutes. the first time it did it failed due to a timeout. so i can’t give you a site domain as there isn’t a site yet, however according to my administrator page i am on 1012 joomla.

should it take this long; am i simply hanging in cyberspace; will technical provide an answer as lot of other users seem to be left hanging as well 🙁

i love the template and the functionality it is alleged to have, however, after reading the forum and noting how many horrendous problems there are i’m not sure i’ve made the right choice

The QS package is a fully working Joomla installation, so you need to download it from here.
Unzip the package on your computer.
Delete the Joomla installation you have today on your domain.
FTP the files from the QS package you unzipped to your webserver.
Create a new database.
Follow the steps in the installation instructions on Joomla that comes on your screen.
Check out the Quick start installation guide for Dravity i the DRavity forum, i know its for 1.5 but it covers most of what you need to know to get it up and running. If you have problems let me know and ill write up a guide on how to install a quick start package from scratch

thanks for the response, unfortunately i am not technically literate so all of what you just said is completely unknown to me! 🙁 i am with 5quidhost.com and they handle the JOOMLA installation etc automatically so i have; no idea if it was uploaded today, and if so, where it is.

i got JOOMLA because it was supposed to be simple and all the other templates i have downloaded [JA Rochea for instance] have been simple straightforward and problem free.

i didn’t realize when i bought this [yes i have paid money] that it would be so hellishly complicated compared to other JA templates. looks like i’ll have to dump this and carry on looking for something that works.
