July 20, 2011 at 9:18 pm #166543Hi,
I updated the template to the newest version. Now, when I make a new featured article in K2, I don’t see it on the JA News Frontpage. The settings are the same as before the updating.
Any idea?
Thanks.chavan Friend

July 22, 2011 at 12:08 pm #402532I see now the article. I leaved only so many featured article, as the JA News Frontpage can show.
But, now the problem is โ and it seems, this was the main problem โ that the articled are in random order, however by the JA News Frontpage settings this is “ordering reverse”. By the K2 article manager the ordering is correct.

I must say that is not random order since the order remains when refreshing page, its just the reverse order of the default. What kind of ordering you exactly want?

July 25, 2011 at 11:51 am #402916Hi hungnd,
OK, you have right, my problem specifcation wasn’t clear. The order isn’t randomly so, that the order changes every time. I have 9 articles in the JA News module. The article, what must be on the first place is the no 8. in the module. The article which has the second place in the featured order in the backend is the first in the frontend. The article, what is the 7. in the backend, that is the 9. in the front. When i refresh the page, the order remains.
What’s interesting also, that when i unpublish an article in the backend, but i leave it featured, the article remains in the frontend.

Please tell me if you change the order in Ja News FP to a different one, will it work?

Please check if you have cleared the cache, go to admin > tools > clean cache.

Yes, when i select to the normal ordering in the JA News FP, then it’s correct in the frontend, but the last article is in the first place in the frontend. The newest article becomes the highest ordering number in the backend, so i must choose the ordering reverse option in JA News FP. I know, in the backend i can change the ordering number after publishing an article, but i must to choose the simplest way, because the site has more writers.
Please check if you have cleared the cache, go to admin > tools > clean cache.

Yes, I always clean the cache after publishing an article, or changing a setting.

Yes normally the last article will gain the highest ordering number, and it should be place on top of Ja news FP because it is the newest. I’m not sure if the module has made it the wrong way and you have to choose the “reverse” option. I will check it. Right now you can just keep the option which does the right order.

I will check this issue as well, for now please unmark “featured” in unpublished articles to hide them, thank you.

Thanks! I think also, that the problem is not with the module. It’s interesting, by some module the newest article becomes the hightest number, but by another it becomes the lowest. And i don’t know, why. ๐
I will check this issue as well, for now please unmark “featured” in unpublished articles to hide them, thank you.

I have only 9 featured articles, the 9, where are in the JA News FP also.Thanks.
