    Hi

In Joomla, each article should belong to a menu item so it can display in separate page. Currently, the item 3,4 belong to a menu item call Resources so it will direct to detailed page when you click to open.

You can simply assign item 1,2 (or category these items belong to) to a menu item, it will work properly then.

Hello, I’m having an issue with this again. If you take a look at the homepage
    http://nysfda.org/New-NYSFDA/
We are going live today so if you view this around 5pm EST USA then please look at nysfda.org

The first item in the bar on the left "Frequently Asked Questions about Funerals" when I click on the link in the overlay over the image the article opens up on the homepage instead of it’s respective page. This article is in the category "Funerals and Materialization" which is a submenu item of Resources. I’m not sure why it is displaying on the homepage instead of the actual page. When the article is clicked on from this page
http://nysfda.org/New-NYSFDA/index.php/resources/funerals-memorials (10th down in the list of articles) it works fine.

In the explanation you gave above you say the article needs to belong to a menu item/category. From what I can tell it does. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

I checked menu items under ‘Resources’ menu on your site but they all display single item or category blog of different category rather than "Funerals and Materialization" category. So basically, the "Frequently Asked Questions about Funerals" is still not assigned to any menu item

Auto correct got the best of me. The category and menu item is called "Funerals and Memorialization". There is a both a menu item and a category for this. The way it’s set up is I have a custom HTML module titled Funerals and Memorialization. This is an "Articles Latest" module that lists articles from the Funerals and Memorialization category. I added this module to the article "Funerals and Memorialization" using loadposition.

When I access this article from the following path: RESOURCES => FUNERALS AND MEMORIALIZATION then select the "Funerals and Memorialization article from the list (10th down) the article displays correctly. But when the article is accessed via the slideshow it is displaying on the homepage. I need the article when access through the slideshow to display correctly (not on the homepage).

    Thank you

Please use nysfda.org to access the site. We’ve gone live and the dev link above won’t work anymore.

    Thank you.

As I mentioned before, when article is not assigned to any menu item, it will display under current menu item. For example, you show Article Latest module there >> Click to open article >> it will open under Resources menu item.

Anyway, I just created a new menu called Resources under Menus manager and create a new menu >> assign Funerals & Memorialization category to this new menu item and you can open FAQ article from homepage, it will work.

    I update the space.

Where / which page I can see these articles? Career Information, Facing Grief, Funeral Planning and Veterans categories

They are all under the "Resources" menu item.

    https://nysfda.org/index.php/resources/careers
    https://nysfda.org/index.php/resources/facing-grief
    https://nysfda.org/index.php/resources/funeral-planning
    https://nysfda.org/index.php/resources/veterans

I would like to know how to do this myself so I can put it in our website user guide.

    Thank you.

These articles have their own menu items so they work properly when you click from the slideshow.

Unfortunately they do not work properly when clicked from the slide show. I just went through and changed an article from each of the above categories to FEATURED so that it would show up in the slide show. I then clicked on each article from the slide show and it did not display on the appropriate page, it did the exact same thing as I described above. They ALL displayed on the homepage.

I am unable to leave these articles set to FEATURED as our site is currently LIVE and I do not want the articles I used to test the functionality to remain visible in the slide show. But if you need to test it out yourself to see what I’m talking about please do, just be sure to UNfeature them when you are done.

    Thank you.

    It’s weird!

I tried to feature an article called ‘Career Information’, then in homepage, I click to open this article from slideshow, it redirects to this page: https://nysfda.org/index.php/resources/careers , not the homepage.

Could you pls try to clean all caches and check again?

Career Information is the article that appears at the top of this page:
    https://www.nysfda.org/index.php/resources/careers

You need to test the articles listed at the bottom of the page. None of these WHEN ACCESSED VIA THE SLIDESHOW (if FEATURED) show up on their own page but rather on the homepage. It is the exact scenario that was occurring in the start of this ticket which you fixed. I just need to know what you did so I can make the changes to the above mentioned areas.

    Thanks

I mentioned what I did above:

I just created a new menu called Resources under Menus manager and create a new menu >> assign Funerals & Memorialization category to this new menu item and you can open FAQ article from homepage, it will work.

Let me know if it doesn’t make senses.
