You can try this way

Open templates/ja_mendozite/css/template.css file

From

#ja-header .main { padding: 20px 0; }

change to

#ja-header .main { padding: 0px; }

Always remember to clear cache from the Admin area after apply any changes

I’m afraid I’m not quite getting what you are mentioning above. It would be awesome if you can possibly include URL of your site, a screenshot and description on that particular screenshot on what you would like to do. Otherwise, it’s like solving a puzzle without clue.
