When doing a search on our main site by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top corner, random images from the template’s "quick start" appear next to the contact- and web-links hits. When I create a new web-link in the admin area, include an image and publish, some completely different image shows up when I do a search in the front end.
What is causing this?

You can try with this quick fix:

• Download and unzip the attached file
• Copy to this directory: templates/ja_magz_ii/html/com_search/search/default_results.php (backup old file first)

Thanks for the fix. The search results look better now.
I see that the web-links are now not showing an image at all. Is this the way it’s suppose to be?
Also, when you search for a contact who has no image saved, the search results are still trying to show one using just the domain url as the image address (not a big deal since it is fixed by uploading an image to the contact, but maybe you can fix it)

Could you try to switch default template of your site to a standard template of Joomla and see how the search show image for web-links?

and pls send me screenshot.
