Hello,

I have a directory of restaurants and a specific restaurant brand may have multiple restaurants. I give the same name on all the restaurants, eg. Mc Donald’s and i have configured the K2 Item View as per screenshot http://take.ms/gHhRQ (enabled only "Related items (by tag)" and "Related item title").

I assumed that with this kind of configuration, the related items will appear only if the K2 item title is exactly the same. But i get more K2 items as related that have the same tag and belong to same category, even though their title has nothing in common with the open item. Eg. i see Mc Donald’s and i also see as related: Mc Donald’s (another article), Pizza Hut, Burger King, etc.

Do i have a misunderstanding of this functionality, or is it a bug?

Hi @anneo,

With configuration as your screenshot, in K2 item view page, it will show 5 related items which have same tag with item you’re viewing.

For example: in this K2 item page: http://ja-directory.demo.joomlart.com/index.php/en/entertainments/item/1-5th-view-bar-food

you will see ‘Related Items’ section shows 5 titles of related items which have the same tag: Shopping: http://prntscr.com/c30ci9

Dear Saguaros,

Thank you for your reply. So i suppose that by using the default K2 Relate Items’ functionality there is only relation based on the item "tag" and all other options are options to be displayed.

What if i use "tag" as a category and i want to see related items based on the item "title" (instead of the "tag")?

Is there any option for that using K2 items?

I’m afraid that is only option supported by K2 by default, you can search for a suitable extension in JED which supports more options.
