    My site has been running great with the Tiris template. I’ve been trying to iron out one last nagging issue that has me stumped. I can not get the rating stars to show for products. I’ve also noticed that there are a few other minor graphics that are missing.

    Using Firebug I can see the issue is that the graphics file can not be found when the CSS goes to load it. I’ve tried locating the file, re-installing the template and still I can’t get the graphics to show. I am using the default theme and besides making the width wider, have not made any changes to the theme.

    If you’d like to look the web site it is http://www.603sports.com. I tried re-installing Jomshopping and found that when you uninstall/re-install it nukes everything so products are limited right now.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

    Hi,

    Can you please try and disable the sef component you are using and see if that solves the issue?

    Went ahead and did that and it appears as though there is no change. I cleared the T3 cache but do not have any other caches enabled. Could it be something with Joomla SEF? Should I turn that off and disable my .htaccess file?

    Hi,

    You should try to disable the SEF component you are using and the Joomla SEF (no need to alter your .htaccess file).

    First of all, thanks for your help. I appreciate it a ton. I’ve turned off all SEF as far as I can tell, components, plugins and Joomla built-in. I turned disabled the .htaccess file as well. Still no graphics. Should I now go through disabling pluggins/components 1 by 1 until I find the conflicting one? Seems like that should be the next step.

    Thanks in advance again.

    Arg. No I’ve back to the original problem I had (and posted about). When I click on a product, the context changes to the Home page for the product view. I followed what I posted the last time and I’ve had no luck fixing this problem. Not sure what I did. Seems like there is a cache that is still enabled as my changes are not being effected until I purge all caches (T3 and Joomla) even though I have all caches off (including local browser). Weird…

    Well the context has corrected itself. I let the browser sit for 15 minutes and then did a reload and viola, products are no longer in the Home context…

    I was also messing around with Firebug. If I change the following line from

    .stars_no_active {
    background-image: url(“../images/star.png”);

    to.stars_no_active {
    background-image: url(“../images/star.gif”);

    The stars show up. What directory is this refering to? I’ve found numerous references to star.png & star.gif in my joomla install (from jshopping and other components. Could it be that I’m simply missing the graphic files for some reason?

    I created a website via the JA demo builder and there the graphics appear to be just fine for the default theme (as you’d expect). On my install, I can not find a star.png file for the default theme. Now, there are star.png files for some of the other themes (I’ll use Green as an example), and when I select to use the Green theme, the star graphic and the “add to cart” buttons show up correctly (still no cart graphic though).

    Not sure if this helps or not. Where should the star.png file be located for the default theme? Should I convert the star.gif to star.png for the default theme?

    I’m off to try to install the quickstart demo on a VM to see if I can find the graphics there.

    Not sure why but I was just missing the graphics that ja_tiris needs as the default images. They were no where to be found in my com_jomshopping/images directory. Once I added the missing graphics in to this folder, everything started working like a champ.

    Why they are not in there even after re-installing numerous times is beyond me. I’m glad it was a simple fix though. It doesn’t look like a persmissions thing (checked that) so I’m just not sure why the graphics are not there. Strange…

    Hi,
    Well that sounds like the files couldn’t be uploaded at first place which makes me think that there might have been a temporary problem with your server.

    Anyway i am glad that everything is working fine for you now!

    Regards
